I agree. I had a friend was waiting for a service truck after a blowout in N Carolina. DOT came up and did a Level II and wrote him up for the flat.
I bent my cab extension flare, will it go on my DAC??

The dot officer Gave me 3 points for the under-inflated inside tire on the trailer and then 7 more points because he put the trailer out of service.

yeah, you see, the copper see's him on the side of the road, prolly asked him what was wrong too.
this is a problem, the states are doing this job the feds ought to be doing and as a result, the states get paid for these, when they turn in the paper work.
always a win-win for the states, cities, towns.Annonymous Thanks this. -
Isn't that ridiculous how they just hit you for this type of stuff like we're trying to get it fixed what more do they want from us you know. I don't think that's moral or ethical now if we didn't have anything reported or we didn't do a pre-trip inspection and find an under-inflated Tire and we're actually going to get it fixed then I can understand. In my case the tire wasn't so bad when I noticed it on inspection but got worse while in route to get it repaired/replaced

Haha! Yes lol

I called the dealer and they want $440 for one that is primed black then I would have to go to Sherwin-Williams and get the paint matched and put in a can and spray paint that ####. Only problem is I have to go in today or tomorrow at the latest to get my truck for routine maintenanced. And the dealers are telling me they need 24 to 48 hours to get the part. Now if I ordered it today I wouldn't get it till tomorrow or the following day which would be too late then I need to paint it and I need another 24 to 48 hours for it to cure and it's raining out here for the next couple days.

That's good to know thank you I appreciate that man.

oook..so 2 infractions?
i can "see" the tire at 3 points x's 3 = 9 points
but i do not "see" OOS
all i "see" are securement or suspension, which many ARE 7 points. x's 3 = 21 points.
this can give you the 30 points total 9+ 21=30
OOS is not that hard to understand with a flat (underinflated tire).
kinda a BS thing, like i said, we drive miles upon miles, what driver here has NEVER picked up an object in his/her tires over the years?
now go take a cold shower, you're making me sweat too hard. -
I have a violation code there's only one on the vehicle examination report from the inspection.. 393.75A3, tire flat and or audible air leak left side trailer axle 5 inside tire no measurable PSI. This was on 71 in Ohio. The trailer was put out of service. My company is the one that told me I had 30 CSA points for it. Under violations there's only that one that I listed above. And I was not giving a ticket or anything like that either.buddyd157 Thanks this.

@Annonymous,
Where are you planning on going as far as other companies are concerned?
Never mind I saw, where you want to go, I can't believe that a cab extender would matter a whole lot with those guys. Personally, you can probably do better in due time then where your working now and where you want to go, but I understand due to circumstances you maybe limited for a little while.Annonymous Thanks this.
