I can never go home

next time you get to your terminal, pack your stuff and call a cab...that company is worthless

 

"Hey dispatch, I'm going home on such and such a date and for however long. Hope I have a job when I get back."

Then do it.

 

I cant imagine a company not letting you go home.....but hey, if that's the way they run the company. they can do it without me working for them...

Driver: I need to go home.
Dispatch: when do you need to be home?
Driver: Next Friday.
Dispatch: Hometime for the Human Doormat...next Friday. Gotcha.

(Later)
Driver: What's up with this load? I'm supposed to be home Friday.
Dispatch: Well, we need this load delivered first and....
Driver: No can do. I'm supposed to be home on Friday.
Dispatch: It's an important load.
Driver: Then you'd better hurry and find another truck to cover it.

Dispatch: Got you a load going through the house...
Driver: No can do. I am taking off until the following Friday. That load needs to deliver Monday.
Dispatch: You need to work with us. We have loads to move.
Driver: I told you 3 weeks ago that I had to be home.you should have planned accordingly.

Dispatch: Got a load that empties out 30 miles from your house.
Driver: No can do. It has an 8 PM appointment Friday night. I need to be home Friday, not Friday night.
Dispatch: What? That's the best we can do!
Driver: Okay, but I will push my hometime until the following Monday now.

 

send me home or I will work for your competition and help them kick your teeth in each day

 

Empty threat. Western Express is so crappy it has no competition.

I've been fortunate ( I guess) to never have worked for a company that pulled that BS but if I ever do, it won't be for long.
