    I'm guessing op is talking about the bridges on lower level going through downtown Austin. This bridges are curved and the markings are marking then end of the curve in the emergency lanes , not marking height over the two lanes

    Translation:

    The signs are giving the height of the lowest portion of the bridge, not the height over the roadway lanes.
    Hint... Don't try to park under that bridge to take a pee or answer a text.

    One time I had a CR England truck that was in front of me go into full panic more on that lower level of 35 in Austin. Slammed on the brakes then straddled both lanes.

    Pretty sure he's talking about 234A, Cesar Chavez St. It's right at downtown after the upper/lower split Southbound.

    Yeah I've been under that bridge with a high container and it cleared it with room to spare. It's on route 30 off 53 right?
