Just like eating lettuce, ain't nothing to it !
I have firsthand experience dealing with folks like you, what you did in the past will always follow you. I have some very close friends that are constantly reminded of life 20-30 years ago.
They cant hunt,or leave the stinking country if they so choose.
They have had to work very hard for what progress they have made.
They work right along side of people far worse that draw the same pay.
Only real difference is the "others" haven't been caught yet, sadly alot never do.
Just gut it out, dont follow that guy like a pup. There are many out here that believed and regret is all thats left to show for it.
Use your own mind to weigh, bad habits are easy to pick up but much harder(expensive) to let go.
Grooming You? that has BS all over it, -
Honestly, I got one hell of a good chuckle out of this one. No disrespect, if your working on an open deck, I know your working hard. -
I just accepted an step deck job for. 44 com running Nevada to Wisconsin s Dakota To Texas. Hauling John Deere equipment and hay. Have a 7 yr old felony and 3 months experience out of a very good driving school (which is what got me in the door).
Better is out there if you have the right attitude and present your self well. -
Dirtyrabbit, you are exactly right! I see you have about as many years as me. I wonder if your thinking isn't close to mine. With 6 years and about 800,000+ miles, I'd say I've about doubled being green, which is about 400,000 - 500,000. I'm still a few miles from what I would consider a veteran, a million miles.
I find tucking a lot like aviation, but they don't tell you what they do in aviation. You work hard for that Pivate Pilot Certificate. By the time you get it, they have drilled into your head that it is only a license to learn. If you think it isn't, you'll never become an old pilot.
In trucking, the CDL is a license to learn. Forget that and it can be a very humbling experience.flyingmusician Thanks this. -
Cant start putting in demands until you get your one year. You may not think your a green horn anymore but to a company thats a whole different story. I used to work on rigs with my buddy and his dad for a while. I can do everything from an oil change up to a clutch job with help But even I'm still a green horn.

You have no idea, what lies ahead of you.
Dammn, I cant stop laughing.
dirtyrabbit and BigJohn54 Thank this. -
Hey BigJohn, I was rolling along today and this GREEN thing popped into my head again. After I stopped laughing, I started to run through all the odd ball crap that has happened to not only myself, but some friends too. And you are right about the "right to learn" idea. When we look into the rearview mirror, we can say a lot of different things, but the reality is the #### coming around the corner is gonna get DIRTY.
Smoking brakes down off Eisenhower, waking up to four feet of snow in Virginia, a trooper pulling you over to say your missing an inside drive tire (not me, yet) or, the best one, getting out to put the chains on going up Vail and releasing the company just gave you something that resembled chains to make you look legal. (#### near blew a gasket on that one.) These are just a few of the things that tell me I'll always be a little green down deep inside.
Hippity Hop!BigJohn54 Thanks this.
