so far so good. i picked my first solo load up after everything on the truck checked out.

it was a live load and well, a hour and a half later i got her all buttoned up and on the road. did i over strap it, sure. but honestly till i’m more experienced i’m erring on the side of, well just take a look at the pic. Plus the right hand lane of 95 north through SC sucks below 26 and both ones suck north of it.

Sheet rock coming out of Savannah GA and this load is going to Wendell NC which is right at 6 hours (made up about 30 minutes on the way up) the load itself, she’s on the light side, coming in under 28k. but i’m on my 10 hour currently and technically coulda made it to the job site tonight but i didn’t think to call when i left with the load to see if they had on site truck parking.

oh an a big boat came in to port while i was losing also:

Put a half twist in your straps to keep them from fluttering.

You're the kind of driver I like to see on the road.
    Careful, thinking forward.
Better to be overly cautious than have a problem you could have prevented by thinking it through.
That mindset is exactly what we teach our new gas haulers.
Check, double check, verify it's correct.
Don't just shine it over, validate it.
I tell new drivers constantly... I can save you up to the point where you pull the handle. After that, it's all you.
You strapped the snot out of that load.
You're covered even if you break a strap.
Keep that mindset as you progress.
    It'll serve you well.
And if you ever want to haul gas in Chattanooga, message me. I'll find a seat for you.

thank you for the kind words. i’ll be honest, i invested a lot in my self to get here and don’t wanna screw it up.

i’ve had a few show me the minimal, and told them thanks but i prefer to over do it to an extent not only because i wanna keep my record clean and not get anyone hurt or killed, but honestly i don’t wanna end up on the internet with a segment on boneheaded truckers or Mutha Trucker news lol.

thanks for extending the offer, tanker is where i wanna end up at, but not sure if i’ll be able to cross your path anytime soon lol. the wife is reenlisting in the military.

Good attitude. It takes less time to throw a couple of extra straps than it does to explain to some pissed off LEO why you didn't. It's cheaper too.
