If I get there, I will stop by and say hello, but the odds are not in favor. That was about the first time I had been to that particular plant in about a year and a half. Day before that I was doing a plant south of Dayton Ohio, and tomorrow it's a load of sugar for a place south of Detroit.

Good luck on your schooling, It will be like a roller coaster, learning has it's up's and down's keep with it. When it's all said and done you'll have a nice certificate and a new license that has a class as a A (CDL) Good luck.

Thanks for the kind word Giggles -- just thought I'd update this thread. After my first full week of school, I'm getting much better at shifting -- up and down. Getting more comfortable driving in traffic and since I don't have to think about everything, I'm more able to anticipate things so I can be prepared for them -- you know, traffic lights, hazzards, railroad tracks -- in other words, I feel more like I'm actually driving instead of trying to survive. I have to admit, it's alot of fun -- especially on the highway. Everyday after school, I get in my car and wonder why it's so low and the steering wheel is so small LOL! I've been paying particular attention to my backing manuevers -- no problem with the straight line backing, but the 90 degree alley dock has been a real bear! I've been practicing and practicing (like they said on another thread here) and today, I got it in the box 3 times in a row. Every day I feel a little more confident that I can do this and I am anxiously anticipating taking my test on Friday. I'll let you all know how it goes :toothy9:

    WTG Keelady!
I still remember that excitement, hang in there, sounds like you have a very positve attitude.
Here's a tip to pass on to your instructor's.
For every cone the drivers runover, they have to throw a buck in the 'till.
You folks can have a nice tidy sum for graduation for a BBQ!

Thanks GreenLite -- although I'm not sure a BBQ in the winter in Michigan is quite as much fun as one in New Mexico LOL! Testing is supposed to be Friday, but my instructor asked me today if I'd be ready to test on Thursday:toothy3: . I told him yes, so it's possible I may get my CDL TOMORROW! I guess I'd rather take my test Thursday when the weather is supposed to be dry and 30 degrees (a little windy though) than on Friday when it's supposed to rain in the morning turning to freezing rain sometime later in the day! I'll let you all know how it turns out. BTW - roommate's going to be here Friday and wants me ready to leave with him early Saturday. He's got a delivery in Indiana Saturday a.m., then picks up nearby to deliver in Amarillo Monday. I'm supposed to be in Amarillo Monday to start orientation! It's a little overwhelming, but, I'll just take it a step at a time.

Good Luck, keelady. I see your school rigs twice a day when I deliver to Padnos on Viaduct St. If you see a Southshore, wave. However, the test is more important.
