LOL. I thought everyone said lumber loads only pay around a buck a mile? A Maverick broker just offered me a load of lumber from here in Ohio to WV (178 miles) for $700. I guess the internet doesnt always tell the truth. Love my shortie loads that bring me back home by the end of the day and still make a living. Gotta put ur nose to the grindstone and u will find them. Mega-carrier brokers arent always cheap freight. And yes, got something coming back too. Be safe out there drivers.

Lumber is cheap coming out of the Pacific Northwest... Good job getting that rate on yours. Shorty loads are some good bread -n- butter most times.

    mje and HwyPrsnr Thank this.

I am so glad I was able to get out of bed and find this thread. I was tossing and turning last night because I kept thinking about how no one is discussing the biggest issue we have in this industry - cheap freight.

Thank you for bring light to this ignored subject. More people need to be made aware of the fact that brokers are making 2, 3 even 4 times as much money on each and every load compared to the driver. Loads are being booked at $1.25 that they are getting $4 or $5.

Thank you. The word needs to get out and no one has the guts you have to speak out.

If Brokers make soooooo much more money than the O/O's....How come we don't see more O/O's trade in their trucks for a Cell phone and briefcase?
