How about what you paid in fuel total for last year? -
114574 miles 15488.85 gal @ 3.78 per gallon = 58,517.29 or .51 per mile @ 7.39 mpg

Im confused, what does it matter if it's cheap freight or what, as long as you get paid to run?
I am not being a smart a99, I am asking for knowledge.

Knowledge is created by being prepared to meet your oppnent. Know your numbers.
SheepDog Thanks this. -
If you have an older Dependable rig that is paid for....Never run In Cali or W/O of the "Big Creek"...Yeah...You can run for a "Buck a mile".....
However...If you are like me...Live in Cali...Run the Rockies and back every week....It costs more to run....
So my BEP is a lot higher than a Op that runs in the "Flat Lands"..... -
Controlling your out flows reduces cheap frieght.

fixed costs 0.08/mile ?? that's gotta be at least 0.05 just for insurance, if your insurance is cheap. plates, highway tax, and UCR gotta be over 0.03/mile. So what pays for IFTA tax, your computer, paper, supplies, tools, internet access, clothing, drug consortium, cell phone, cleaning supplies, hotels, meals, etc.... ? you're way off.SheepDog, Working Class Patriot and HwyPrsnr Thank this. -
I ran Va - TX to Portland OR and returned to Al, IL ,TX and back to Va 7 times the 1st half of 2012 and Va - Tx - Va the last half. Did better on the long loads. Easier on me and the equipment.
