I have driven for several companies with dual facing cameras, and never had an issue, But then I do my job, so I dont worry about it.
Most of the negative stuff posted is from drivers that do not even deal with the drive cam stuff. If you go to work and do your job you should have no problems. If you work for a bad company then that unto it self is reason to leave.
I don't understand why or how

It seems like it would be simple to program the inside camera and microphone to shut off when the brakes are set.
-
I would be willing to bet that the forward facing one alone would have absolved you of liability. Sure it wouldn't have captured the actual crash but it would have been able to demonstrate that you were indeed driving safely and not the cause of the accident.

Smart people can't afford kids. Meanwhile the poor and dumb breed like rabbits because they're subsidized by the government. Remember, those people vote...FlaSwampRat and stillwurkin Thank this.

Of course it would, but people who have to deal with those have a tendency to want to try and drag everybody else down to their lowest common denominator.

I am gonna just brainstorm a minute. Remember the guy that drove nonstop to his terminal, like 6 or 700 miles? Then got in the truck for his run. Caused one of the most horrendous accidents wally world ever had.Looking into the future, big insurance will want to put a camera on you (us) to keep tabs to see what we do in off time, if we got proper rest, if we worked in the yard all weekend, what kind of beverages we consume ,the list could go on and on. All in the name of $afety. Have heard said..once the camel gets his head in the tent, he is as good as in.CorsairFanboy Thanks this.

The Walmart incident?
As far as I’m concerned that was none other thaN Walmart’s stupidity for accepting a driver from that far away to work out of that DC.stillwurkin Thanks this. -
The way the story read was that he actually had a place of residence close to his terminal. He also had a apartment miles away close to family or his woman or whatever. They (wal mart) had no idea he was gonna play super 4-wheeler driver and super trucker all without sleep. You see he was not that super, and personally i think , lacking brain cells. But a monitoring camera, or a chip in his arm would help $afety keep tabs on that "rascal" and the likes of him out here. Save lives.

I just laugh and shake my head at the privacy argument. I’m 60 years old and I’ve been steadily employed for 45 of those years, and I’ve never had a job where I wasn’t subject to management supervision while I worked. As for when I’m parked and in the sleeper, I put a sock over the camera. Problem solved.
