If he is for real he is not being trolled. He is the one instigating the reactions he gets.
Assuming that he is for real then he is going out of his way to get the abuse he is getting. If he actually thinks he is going to change anyones drive behavior by calling them out on the CB he is a complete moron.
If he really is concerned about safety he should put down the Mic and keep both hands on the wheel as getting all the other drivers riled up with his antics is probably causing other drives to take their attention off the road.
Like I said originally though, I do not think he is for real. I think he is just using others anger for his own entertainment.
I feel bad for this guy

Actually, In a heap of vids from Derek is one where he was threatened in the truck stop and his trailer was vandalized. I just cant find where I put it. I told the guy to calm down becuase he's gonna get himself killed out here. He then used the term "Safety Martyr" For Frig Sakes
.

Seriously though, if this upsets you you should spend less time on the CB and more time reflecting about why you hate children.TruckMafk Thanks this. -

"Thats against FCC code and regulations"- DEREK the professional driver and self-appointed highway monitor

Yeah, I'm sure that would've really happened...
Let me guess... it was a crack team consisting of ex-Navy SEALs, Airborne Rangers, Delta Force Operators, a couple former CIA guys with expertise on radio tracking, and some martial arts masters, right? Yeah, he sure was in for it.. -
It's kind of tough to respect a guy babbling about safety with one hand while following too closely with the other.
Nothing has yet been discovered that will change motoring habits until/unless the motorist wants to change, so "they" gave up better than 50 years ago in favor of making vehicles more crash-worthy. Classic Dunning-Kruger effect. I'd bet fewer than 1% of Smith System students follow the system for more than an hour before reverting to operating ~exactly as they think they taught themselves to "drive" in their 4-wheeler. They don't call them "driving habits" for nothing. -
hmmmm... good point

~5 months late. I didn't notice how old the thread was.
Hey, I'm with you, the guy has his heart in the right place, he's just unaware of or doesn't understand the Dunning-Kruger effect. "If I'm not a great driver, despite having thrown all my education and training out the window, what's this truck still doing under my ###?"
