Neither, carry on , with your head held high. Knowing you did the best you could. They don't deserve acknowledgement from the OP.
I feel lower than snake crap right now.

I had a problem when I worked for a chemical company in Fontana, the driver before had damaged the left mirror knocking the glass out the frame, Then put it back carefully, I came up to take the tractor got in shut the door and it fell on the ground. I was blamed and discharged as I was on the 90 day probation new hire deal. The driver before had been there many years. It evened it self out in the long run

Wrongful termination is when an employer fires an employee for an illegal reason, such as violating the law or an employment contract.
Some examples of wrongful termination include:
- Discrimination
Firing an employee based on their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or pregnancy - Retaliation
Firing an employee for complaining of sexual harassment, discrimination, or creating a hostile workplace - Whistleblowing
Firing an employee for reporting the employer's violation of state or federal laws or unsafe working conditions - Breach of contract
Terminating an employee in violation of an oral or written employment agreement
None of those apply here.
They can fire you for no reason at all, if they want. They can fire you for something someone else did. What are you gonna do, claim in court you had a RIGHT to the job? How would you prove you didn't do it? I was fired because I refused to participate in illegal aircraft maintenance practices that my boss was demanding that I did. Turns out 5 years later that plane crashed killing several people. I was then made a named witness AGAINST my boss by the plaintiff in the wrongful death trial. It all works out in the end.
Learn your employee laws, please.Last edited: Sep 17, 2024

They can do what ever they want, because most won't do anything about it. In CA they can fire you for no reason, but if they state a reason it has to be able to be proved. As far as you should know because you were a paralegal, BS you were not a lawyer, SO I will continue to listen to my lawyer. I received a sizable settlement for wrongful termination because they stated a reason for the termination, that I could prove was not true, the judge actually stated if they had just let me go, instead of stating a reason I had no case. But because they stated a reason that was not true they were held liable under slander statutes. And yes I do believe in having a lawyer on retainer, the companies do. Its called equal representation.
