Plus, if he fires you for not violating the law, you should be able to collect unemployment.

So to clarify it was reefer. I meant escort as in somebody in their own truck to follow behind. Also turned in the truck and he's hitting me with load abandonment which is fine. I had that coming. But he's also talking lawsuit for damage to truck now AND refuses to pay me for any time on the road. This is blowing my mind. Gonna be hiring a lawyer

Reefer work does not do escort. If there were two trucks and two loads going to the same customer, then you call that running together.
As far as the sleeping bit, you knew you need to get some sleep according to HOS and be up at a certain time to get on the road to stay on time. YOu also know you cannot risk breaching the HOS or running illegally etc. Otherwise all of this is a waste if you continue to intend to run illegally in some way. There is no gain in it.
Sounds like you broke a pole. Those run around 4000 dollars give or take a bit depending on what wires and hardware is attached to same. That's considered a major accident. Not just a incident in terms of damage. If you did not break it then who did?
Trucking is a living thing. One day is different than another. You can combat problems by being professional and refer tot he DOT Regulations and HOS rules etc as you go with your run against your delivery time etc. If you are not doing well or cannot be on time then the company will find a way to make you quit on your own when you are out of money. You are not irreplaceable.
The rest of it I'll just leave it alone. There isnt enough hard information or facts other than what appears to be a series of complaints or problems easily solved by making sure you go to bed when the HOS says you need to and wake up in time to get going rested and fed and all of that to stay on time with whatever load you have. Doing a spot of Baltimore or Jersey or wherever is not true OTR. This USA is so big that if you got into actual true OTR work, Im not sure you will be successful.
This is not a attack or make you feel poorly. It's a chance to make corrections and improve your problems so that they are no longer problems to you or to your bosses.
As far as the company is concerned, if you run into a crooked outfit with people telling you to do this or that against HOS and Regulations to deliberately break same, you have no need to continue working for them. QUIT before you REALLY get burned at the scales or otherwise. -

This was what I signed up for. I wouldn't have left my milk hauling gig otherwise. I'm whining I guess but I'm mostly looking for ways to protect myself financially. This guy owes me over 2k and flat out refused to pay me. I'm gonna lose my home and car in a matter of weeks cuz I spent 2 weeks running for him instead of continuing my local gig. My entire life is about to collapse over this.
