Believe it or not,
That is an acceptable securement method.
Not the way I would choose to secure a coil, but is fully within the regs. Check your green book. Some of the acceptable securement methods are surprising.passingthru69, johndeere4020, G13Tomcat and 2 others Thank this. -
I learned how to secure them year's ago, I stopped hauling them lol!

I don't see a problem, it would probably stop moving forward by the time it gets to the motor.

I pulled one about that size some years back out of Memphis back to Wisconsin. It was real thin steel and weighed like 20,000. They absolutely insisted on no chains anywhere near it.
