I had typed up the whole post and only caught it during proof reading. I figured if I did not acknowledge it, everyone would think I was trolling

The thought never entered my mind!

Tyson-Rochelle sucks, no matter who the carrier is, even doing D&H. I F’ing hate that place. However, the people have always been nice to me. And, you can get a truck into the parking lot behind the Arby’s, up on the corner.

Thank you, it's night and day. I've gone from micro-management to zero-management. There is an obverse side to this which is, you got to be on the ball with what they send you and be ready to negotiate and follow up. Also, everyone at this company knows how to talk to people. There are problems but not character related problems. I will do a review in a while - I think they are a good company, where one can earn a high wage - but I am waiting until it's been at least 6 months. I did a lot of diligence but until you are doing it, you cant really know. And so much has to do with where you live, who you work with and how well you know and work the system - this takes time.

If you live in or near Rochelle, it can be good. Since this is the hub, I slept in my own bed almost half the time and would get two or three paid days off every month. due to salary compensation.
I just could not tolerate the culture anymore. Also, there are higher paying jobs for the same amount of work. But it is a safe and solid gig, inter personal stuff aside, -
I decided that food hauling generally, is just a high stress, dirty business. Many of the customers were unpleasant to deal with as well.
Reefers especially are more tense with all the hard appointments, tight schedules, short runs and just trying to keep your frozen loads cold enough to deliver during the summer. Most food hauling is regional and therefore, erratic. A true long-haul reefer job would be a different experience, but those are rare. I did get such an offer from Bay & Bay which was probably about as good as it gets for reefers. I decided I should try something different. It's nice having a silent trailer when I sleep at night ...at night. That's nice too - sleeping when it's dark.Numb, Still undecided, tlalokay and 3 others Thank this. -
They still have a 2500 mile minimum pay guarantee - that's something.
Oh, and you can start at 70cpm ...if, you take a plane to your truck, drive for 8 weeks then take a plane home. That's what they are pushing now. But I was on a dedicated gig out of my home town, it was alright, except for the company culture.bzinger, Frank Speak, mjd4277 and 2 others Thank this. -
I’m downstate and browsing options, so I’m looking forward to your current company’s review.JoeyJunk Thanks this.

They had a local gig on C/L around here.Supposedly home daily, running dedicated. Friend sounded interested, until I told him of K&B's reputation.Start local, dedicated, and then....."need you to rescue this load, run it 300 miles overnite....."surf_avenue, JoeyJunk, ducnut and 1 other person Thank this.

I'm doing flat bed now; pay is better and gives you something to do. "No Touch Freight" is not, IMO, a healthy choice in the long haul. Also, I sleep at night now - what a concept. Food is 24/7, other stuff, not so much.JoeyJunk, ducnut and The Crossword Trucker Thank this.
