Yup, I slammed on the brakes and swerved for the shoulder just in time to see another 13'6" truck sail right under it at full speed.

We had one above Lancaster on US222 a arch bridge.

It wont take big trucks in our lanes either way (Three lane divided center) So we took turns on radio to see southbound shoot it in the middle with say three, then northbound takes two and so on. Takes turn.

I also had a daycab Pete pulling a flatbed around Chicago. Stacks were cut to about 11'8", had few problems anywhere.

I live 8 miles from that bridge. Not so Funny story. Built 1900. Coming North with the leaves off, you can see a huge overpass to the west over the creek. It was built backward. Guy in charge hung himself out there over it. So the story goes. 1897 was a bad train wreck out passed that. Killed 15 people, many injured. Two trains hit. No rails even left on that line. Some say on certain night the train can be heard and seen.

You JUST ABOUT made me .... nevermind, has to do w/ pants. I SO KNOW EXACTLY where you mean. I took the wife by there when I was hauling asphalt 6 years back, and told her the story, and every hair on her Italian arms and neck stood up. She's very 'paranormic' for a Catholic, for lack of a better word. I've heard about hearing it and seeing it; showed her RIGHT where it was at. She never came that route w/me again.
