we split 2200 dollars for only 1400 miles. That does not equal the $0.94 / mile you posted in the title of your thread more like $0.78/ mile but still a decent gig

Stability comes in many shapes and forms. If you don't think there's more risk to this gig as opposed to the offer made to you from Swift, then that's just the way you see it and that's fine because it's your decision. But I see it as the more risky alternative and with greater risk comes higher pay... exactly what you're getting.

Just the fact that you're off E loggs means you can be hassled by DOT more when they check your HOS. And when they want, they always find something on paper. That's just one example. Anyway, good luck to ya.

Yes but working for a big ugly you can rub a myriad of people the wrong way and watch your loads disapear overnight....,,now if your one guy has honor if he does grow his business he will remember who helped him i have in the past paid large xmas bonuses also paid for hotels meals and xtra money on a bad week but i have strong feelings about the 1099 issue that to me is to much.risk.i allways carry wc and pay by w2 hope my business.will grow to the size of swifts pinky nail one day

yes we split 2200 for 1400 miles. add in the amount that i got for lumping the load ( seems like it will be a weekly thing at this ES3 york pa,) $220, my total actual pay for that week is
1397 miles $1,329.00. Average it out its about 94-95 cpm.
the loads i take to york are chicken broth loads. 41,000 lbs 21 pallets, straight pull no break down. i can empty the trailer with a manual pallet jack in 30 minutes. $110.00 in 30 minutes, would be stupid not to. i go to this place a couple times a week now. ez money

youll see my breakdown here that shows the average is about 94 to 95 cpm when i added in my unloading pay, i'd rather pay myself to unload the trailer than a lumper service. what part of upstate ny are you from bud? im in the adirondacks.

i run mainly the NYS thruway and I88 in ny and I81,83. there are no permanent weigh stations i pass by. only random ones they set up, and in 6 years ive never been dot'd once. they arent very active here.

also, im not locked into any sort of contract here...haha. i have a a Class A lisc. with a clean DAC, and zero CSA points. i can literally get any driving job I want at anytime. so really, there is almost ZERO risk.

swift is also giving the owner op's that were with NFI a real shafting. raising the CPM up 2 cents but dropping the empty miles down by 14 cents, cutting fuel surcharge by 15 cents and charging for use of qualcomm ( 20$ something a week ) ezpass, and payroll. they have to pay swift to get paid. sillyness. my buddy who is an owner op would be losing over 200$ a day if he were to stay. bunch of tom foolery if you ask me

I would say working for Swift would be a little more stable for working for a driver with 2 more trucks... just an opinion though, but didn't you know that everyone that works for Swift has driven before? LOL yes I used to drive for them and that's what every single employee that I ever talked to opened with.

But My main reason for this post was to ask why some people post 1100$ instead of $1100?
