I couldn't bring the SRW low enough to tune the two 4' antennas, then they fried my set. I thing the two antennas were 1000 watts eash maybe to much wattage? Then I learned they needed to be at least 5 foot appart. So I reseached and found someone who said the dual two foot antennas worked perfectly. But I need more conformation feed back before I buy new antennas and another CB Radio, has anyone out there that can confirm or deny this?

I'd use a single antenna on driver side as tall as possible

First thing is to see if you have it setup right, describe in detail how it is setup. What type of coax, jumpers, antennas ... etc. ... .

Rule of thumb is to keep both antennas at least 8ft apart.
