Company only needs to be notified after you are convicted.

CSA points only come into play if there is an inspection report that accompanies the citation. No inspection, no CSA points.

Besides, only the megas worry about driver CSA points when making a hiring decision. You shouldn't accept employment with any company that considers your PSP score when making a hiring decision.

Saia uses CSA scores genius. They are one of highest paying jobs around. Most profitable and growing LTL right now. They like having a low score and take pride in it. So if you have a high csa they willl let you go or not hire you. I have a good friend that works there. This is what he told me. They have let drivers go cause of CSA scores. Try to go to Walmart with a jacked up CSA and see what happens. Saia and Walmart are far from Mega Carrier status.

Yes they carry CSA points. Nobody is trying to say they don't. What we are trying to get across is for them to get in the system they must be reported to the FEDS during an inspection conducted by a CVSA/MCSAP/DOT officer who lists them on the inspection as a violation. General tickets don't get reported that way.

Walmart is now considered a mega. They cut the pay for new hire company drivers more than 30%. And they're outsourcing a lot of their DC work to the lowest bidder. That's what happens when the patriarch dies and the kids take over the company. Starts going downhill. Walmart didn't start going downhill as fast as most, but it looks like they're catching up pretty quickly.

Can't speak for SAIA. Time will tell.

And yet on all those points on that website, there is no mention a citation is even needed to get the violations.. Here is a hint.
CSA = federal reporting of violations. Requires a DOT certified officer to fill out a CVSA inspection report. All violations are noted and points assigned even if no citation is issued (getting a warning)
A citation (ticket) is a local issue, based in the local court. Usually with a fine associated, but has no bearing on CVSA'a CSA or PSP points.

I'm sorry you cannot wrap your mind around this concept these are two different, but admittedly related issues.

Also, while that link is correct as far as it goes, when you try and prove yourself you should link to the agency responsible. Not some third party that could be just as wrong. You can start here to learn about the inspection program... https://cvsa.org/inspections/inspections/

Actually if you want to get down to the nitty gritty of it. ALL the carriers with DOT operating authority had better be watching out for these CSA scores.
