As has been stated sometimes a driver has no option. If you are ticketed by a CVSA/MCSAP/DOT officer and also inspected with violations listed you have to turn that in to safety. Because all of us have due process rights there is no one size fits all solution to this problem. In 2009 I took a case to court and won it. I did so without an attorney. The deputy was a dick. Anybody want to check on this go ask now State Court Judge Stephen Campbell then a prosecuter in Habersham County Georgia who waxed his butt on a failure to maintain lane and a tail light out charge in front of a Habersham County Jury. Although I won I still lost almost a weeks worth of work. It was the principal of the thing. My point is you must do as you feel is correct for you. If your planning to pay the fine notify asap. Otherwise you (take em to court).
