One of 3 choices, and the decision HAS to be made in writing before you leave the receiver.
1. They keep it, and it is their problem along with the broker and the shipper.
2. You haul it to the dock of a designated LTL carrier the broker has chosen, and he pays you for the extra distance/delivery.
3. You haul it back to the shipper as a truckload rate. If they want exclusive use of the trailer, than that rate is higher than just the regular truckload rate, which you could possibly find something to go along with.
Any other choices will cost you financially and/or morally and legallly.
I got an extra pallet... Should I keep it?

Without going back thru the thread I thought I read that he was leased to a company, if that is the case it is your companies responsibility to get this taken care of. You keep the product your company will be charged the retail value of it, who will then charge you for it.
CondoCruiser Thanks this. -
Also, you can tell them you need to be paid by check when you drop it off.
On a side note, when you originally picked up the load, did the shipper sign off on the load count? And what did the reciever put on the bills for overage, if anything??? -
He seems to be avoiding that question. -
PWTN--DO YOURSELF A FAVOR--if you want real info here--tell the whole story--you asked how to get there in another thread--never really said from where to where--with a whole bunch of different things you wanted--no tolls no hills etc--in the end you ran more than 200 miles out of route--and still payed more tolls than you needed to--now you may or may not be in a bind due to your own inexperience--and good people here are STILL tryin to help you--Give us the WHOLE story--then maybe we can give you some useful advice
Just my $.02smokestack and MJ1657 Thank this. -

If the broker has knowledge of it ,you have no choice. Either you get paid to take it back or you can take it to a warehouse of their choice for forwarding. Charge them for the extra drop as well.
