I was kind of screwed
I had just started so I was cash poor
They said they'd slowly take it out of my safety bonuses
If I had just quit, there wouldn't be any check.
Actually, I outlasted the operations manager and the two safety guys who screwed me
They got fired long before I quit
But I never trusted the company again and never had any loyalty towards them.
I told them if I ever found myself in that situation again, I'd set the brakes and throw the keys in the road while I walked away.
Which by the way, is what the cop told me I should've done.
It wasn't the only time they screwed me, but I found my own ways to take it out if their hides.SidewaysBentHalo and Chewy352 Thank this. -

For the record. Bumper to bumper with a 53 trailer generally measures 70 feet. If you're driving a standard FL.

Probably county road A-3.Nice shortcut,so you don't have to go by Susanville. Many years ago that was the allowed truck route we used to run, guess somebody didn't like the truck traffic.
QuietStorm Thanks this. -
No here's the thing...trucks are still allowed on that road so they don't care that much. I saw guys pulling covered wagons and grain hoppers and other shorter stuff. It's a scam. If they really didn't want trucks going that way they'd just post it "No Trucks". They aren't going to mess with the local guys like that but CHP knows that OTR rigs are 70-72 ft and so they can sit there and wait to write that ticket all day. CHP and NYPD are the queens of BS revenue tickets. -
The restricted road in Manhattan, Il is US 52, and Rand McNally, with headquarters in Il, finally corrected that one in the atlas, there are others, but that is Will County, home of less than friendly commercial vehicle enforcement, and usually lighter traffic, which makes singling out a truck much easier.
Fine there was $75.
