What speed would you feel comfortable driving at? That is the key to staying safe on the roads. Driving at a speed that YOU feel safe at.

I drive faster in my car than I did when I first leaned how to drive. I don't majorly exceed the speed limits. At the most I will run 10 over, and that to pass someone.

It was the same when I first started driving truck. I drove slower when I started, but as I got more comfortable, I was able to kick it up a notch, but never a speed faster than I felt safe driving at. I never got to drive any truck that got to go as fast as it wanted. I was always in governed trucks.

Personally, I would rather not have this person on the road with me in a big rig. Can't tell how fast you are going or even what the posted speed limit is? Stay out of a rig and go work at Walmart instead.

Guys I get it. The is no room for error in the posted speed limit in a truck. I understand all your criticism. That things can happen in a instant in a truck and your just not a professional steering wheel holder. I get it, I do. I have alot on my mind, some of it was brain storming about which CDL school, Which company to work for, where is my Tax info for my student loan app, Who is going to watch my dog while traveling, Where am I going to store my stuff, Where will I change my residence in order to be in a hiring area. I need to find my tax info for last year.I have someone coming over at 1pm. I am trying to subletting my apt for someone who travels is he clean, straight and trust worthy. It was a good day at church, I need to get the car washed and do some shopping at Walmart. Those exact things were all on my mind when I drove out of church and the time I got pulled over.

Look at it from an employeers point of view. If you have a guy that can't even handle driving a car with out being distracted or wasn't paying attention or whatever LAME EXCUSE that WE DON'T CARE about. Then why on earth would they trust that guy with an 80,000lb killing machine that could have millions of dollars worth of stuff in the back.

And FYI I don't buy it for a second that you didn't know the speed limit because if you just left church then that means you must have been in an area you know thus you should have known the speed limit without even looking at the sign. so please go cry to mommy. Because we are here for solid advise not reading about poor me I don't know how to pay attention so I will end up killing myself or someone else stories.

Also I don't care how much was on your mind. You think we don't have stuff on our minds? And yet we still pay attention to everything around above and below our trucks. Along with figuring out our ETA's, our hours, our directions, ect. ect. ect...

With the attention span you have proven to have I am wondering if remembering to ask would you like fries with that might be a little to much on your mind to pay attention to.
