Powder Joints, You think because you can type it its true? When you prove your comment about everyone could get two 15 mph over in 9 mo. you may get some of your credability back. Perhaps you should reread your signature again.
-
again, you have demonstrated that you cannot obey the speed limits. again, you are doomed from driving, not getting a CDL, but from driving.......for a long time. then when you are actually ready and MATURE enough to drive big rigs, guess what..........the trucking companies will MAKE YOU go back to school all over again as now, you have been out of a truck for too darned long.
i told you, in MY job, i DEAL with people like you, which in all actuality, i just say.........."we can't sign you up for school, because you WILL NOT find a job that easy if at all because of your (driving record/criminal record, which ever applies).
some here will say he drives over 10 mph every day. to that I SAY BS as well...........for the time being, HE IS LUCKY, because someday he WILL BE CAUGHT, and with CSA2010/2011, he's gonna get rammed BIG TIME up his arse.........
FORGET ABOUT BEING A TRUCK DRIVER.........your background (boo-hoo, i was in the military, i was not paying attention, i am out of work) WILL NOT make a judge or US feel sorry for you.............
go find ANOTHER LINE OF WORK.........

Look I am not sticking up for anyone blasting thru town, a school or church zone at all. I have made mistakes and paid for them and learned from them and I do not pretend any different, but by the same token I can't be too bad of driver I have over 3 million miles out ant accident or incidents or a ticket for 15 over, I do how ever have my share of tickets, and learned from them.
Oh yeah the ticket thing, a no points ticket such as seatbelt's are not held against you when it comes to employment or insurance. They are for a fact printed out on your DMV printout and you will have to address what they are. Keep you from getting a job, very doubtful. -
Keep your head up Platinum, I ain't gonna bash you because I believe in redemption. You know you messed up so do what needs to be done to keep your record clean. If you decide trucking is for you, you should really follow some of the more useful advice given by previous people here. You'll have to go into this knowing you'll be away from home and family and when something happens back home you'll still have to perform your job without letting a distracted mind get in the way.
platinum Thanks this. -
You kind of have to see it from outside your own angle. Statistically, tickets are written for a very small number of actual violations. When a person gets a ticket, in the vast majority of cases, that person has a long habit of doing the thing he or she got a ticket for.
You have received two tickets for the identical offense within a month of each other. What is that going to tell a trucking or insurance company? They look at hard numbers and, as stated above, assess risk depending on what those numbers have to say. They could really give a crap less what was on your mind, where you were, where you were going and for what purpose. All they see is a guy they don't want to take a risk on.
Go on ahead and lawyer up if you think that will improve your chances. Bear in mind the trucking and insurance companies have access to whatever the original ticket was issued for. They do not simply "run your record" and go with that. They get a complete MVR report.
I've seen mine. The last ticket I received was in 1997. That's over 10 years ago. It was for 61 over 55 in Oregon. Yep, I was guilty. I paid it. (I've only ever had two tickets in my life. The other was all mine as well and I got it in 1995 in California. Did traffic school to keep it off my record, but guess what?) Those tickets...the original charges...are still on my MVR report. It says, "Cited for....Convicted of or Pled to...." -
Get the CDL...................
I guarantee you'll get a driving job !!!! -
Unfortunately this ship has sailed ... and hit some rocks.
Whatever you said during the ticket was recorded on the dash cam device. If you said you were "distracted" chances are you'll hear your words when an Attorney gets involved.
If the first pull over resulted in the cop being kind and lowering your speed that will also be recorded so it may not be to your advantage to Lawyer Up.
What you want to do (maybe) is get a Free Consultation to see what your chances are. It may cost you more than it is worth based on the income potential of a first year trucker, but, you may want to get them off your record anyway.
Either way this "distracted" driving has cost you greatly. The only thing that can make these tickets go away is the truth. I'm not sure we know what that is. -
