Does not prove anything, I have had several speeding tickets, minor ones, but speeding none the less that I plead guilty to lessor charges that did not show up as speeding, but as seatbelt and coasting, neither of which have ever been held against me in court, employment or insurance.

H6 show that you have been convicted, not necessarily if you have ever speed or anything else for that matter. So you want to maintain also that you have never violated a VC such as speeding even if you were not caught. Get real.

To start off with you are not a truck driver, or a professional driver of any kind. So you have not been there, you have not ran several million miles, you really do not have any idea of what you are talking about.
A honest person would have to admit they have violated a law or two along the way. After you spend a couple of million miles behind the wheel maybe, just maybe you will have earned the right to correct someone like me who has, been there done that. Until then newbie you need to spend more time learning and less time correcting those whom have put in the miles safely.

    Until then be safe.

The main thing he is missing is that as a CDL holder you are a professional driver. If you went to a doctor and he said ah i cut out the wrong artery but 99% of the time i get it right would you go to him? no. As professional drivers we cannot afford to speed through areas or miss turns or miss a low bridge cause if we do most of the time someone gets seriously hurt or dies. There is no such thing as a "small accident" when you are hauling 80000 lbs behind you. the difference between 45 and 60? Life and Death. That is why the people are so hard in this thread. They know the difference between 45 and 60. Once the OP does then maybe he can get behind the wheel of a big rig. until then i suggest he gets a moped. Even in a car the difference between 45 and 60 is life and death.

OP, I'm not going say "yer a dummy" etc for getting a speeding ticket or even 2. But, you've made the statement along the lines of 'I had a lot on my mind' etc when you were speeding.

Simply put, truck drivers (bus too) cannot have a lot on their minds that distracts from driving. 2 seconds of inattention with these rigs means: you'll wander a lane (crushing the Prius next to you); hit the ditch; take an offramp too fast and roll; miss the 4 wheeler braking in front of you. All of these scenarios are extremely likely to involve a death, either yours or someone who got in the way. With your statements of (paraphase) "I wasn't paying attention", you are demonstrating you are not ready for the resonsibilty of handling a big rig. We have to go 8-11 hrs a day, hyperfocused on our speed, RPMs, grades, gearing, weight, and traffic.

I suggest that you fight the tickets (not much luck), pay the fines and then spend the next 2-3 years in a honest effort to improve your focus while driving and learning. With an honest effort, you will be able to improve your driving skills. A delivery job (auto parts etc) or mobile service tech job will get you lots of driving time, but in a 4 wheeler. If you are still interested after that, take a new look at trucking.

I'm sorry if it seems harsh. Were just trying to be honest here.
