Ive had some good converstations with Police believe it or not. Ohio nailed me at of all places the 13 yard stick. (Unlucky number to some) with a aimed laser, one of the first for the area enforcement.

I'll share this tidbit. In those days I engaged in laser games, sometimes fighting two or more state troopers in my home storm arena. Ive played em all, proton, laser storm, qzar etc but there I was sitting in this trooper's car with a laser storm shirt on with his laser gun in the console that he was explaining to me.

Laser games was actually a form of RFID, a early form of radio which is gathered by computer at rapid rate and tabulated according to which sensor got the signal from whom first and made decisions for kill, miss or injury in real time during the game at ranges up to 100 feet. Bu the troopers laser was a actual one on a wavelength not visible to human eye. I paid the ticket at the line by mail I think it was 72 dollars for 75+ on the toll road back then. I took the ticket and paid it.

Now the companies when that went onto my record did not like that too much so it took some explaining in some cases. They do check now and then. Something comes up and that's that.

It is my deep and never ending conviction earned over a lifetime of trucking that ALL truckers have a folder kept at the home office. That folder has your name on it individually. It does nothing but collect bad things you have done. Small and great and everything in between. When it gets sufficiently thick you get that meeting, and fired etc.

I had a load as a Solo with FFE that was totally screwed up everywhere and I was it. My DM got me involved on a phone interview in Arizona out in a rest area with it of all places... answering interrogation designed to see if I still have a job or not. I defended my position, HOS, truck, dispatch naming names, times dates of loading etc etc etc etc and thought that it was smoothed over and whew all is well.

Fast forward to my last day when they brought out that little folder with my name on it. And that particular load was sitting in a few short concise words. "|Service failure, = other causes]" my spouse did not know about that load and I explained it to her. The DM was amused I suppose when spouse asked me questions about it.

I remember that messed up load to this day. It's almost like a grotesque game of hot potato in recess or something. 1000 drivers in the fleet, who gets this... this ... problem trailer? me. Get going yer late.

    story of my life.

Then maybe you shouldn't be working for them. Any decent company would understand your circumstances...especially since your last one didn't. Kinda harsh I think.

You're right, we don't have a driver shortage... What we have instead, is a good driver shortage. Big difference.

    foggy and Brettj3876 Thank this.
