You mean that if the American citizen private small company or the independant contractor can't afford the equipment....the gubermint won't pay for them to get it?

Hell the Gubermint paid for the equipment for some Mex companies....or didn't you hear about this?

My wife went ballistic....I immediately found some weed eating to accomplish...out of her range!:biggrin_25523:

Long story short, I went to work for a lady who had an ad on craigslist. I worked for three weeks and when it came time to get paid...I didn't. What I thought was a sweet old lady turned out to be a con artist who had no intention whatsoever of paying me.

    You responded to Craigslist ?

You worked for 3 weeks without pay ?

    Why to either????

LOL yeah they were. When you live in a state with the country's worst economy and you are broke and desperate for work though you don't use the best judgement I guess. Never again though I promise that.

Craig's List has it's positive and negatives.

You just have to be careful that the ''golden'' job is really a decent one and as sjhunt said, in today's economy-sometimes you don't use the best judgment when you are desperate for work.

I scanned C.L. for months for jobs and there are some good legitimate jobs on there for my area and there are the crackpot jobs. Same as goes for Career builder.com etc. You have to research and do your background work too.
Another thought Sjhunt-scope out the local trucking companies/docks/warehouses in your area to see what carriers are around and talk to them!

this is true, one has to weed out the good from the bad. the newspaper ads cost BIG bucks, internet is still free. more and more trucking companies are using Craig's List.

there are so many job related websites, that ALL have the good and bad postings of jobs. it's just reading through them and carefully responding.

    sammycat Thanks this.

As a driver for an O/O who's also a member of this forum, I'd like to rebut Rerun's blanket statement about working for O/O's.

I don't drive a large car decked out in chicken lights and chrome.

I don't run renegade just for grits and shiggles.

    I get paid every Friday.

I get home when I need to be home.

Taxes are deducted from my pay.

There's good and bad in everything.

Just stating "Never work for any O/O because they're all out to screw you over," is both ignorant and despicable.
