You don't go to the psychiatrist and tell them to fix you and not tell them anything about yourself. Same thing here. They're asking for advice and understand what the issue is. That's part of the advice that they're asking for is a potential solution.

Almost all decaf is made with the water and CO2 process, not chemicals. I think it's called the Swiss Process. I gave up real coffee for decaf 13 years ago. Most of the bean-to-cup coffee machines in the truck stops also have decaf beans. All of the Loves with those machines do. Dunkin Donuts sells ground coffee beans in grocery stores and has a decaf choice. That's what I make at home. Exact same taste as the real coffee.austinmike Thanks this.

Agreed, a psychiatrist does need to know all of the details, unless one uses a Cognitive Based Therapist. Employers are not mother/father/psychiatrist/friend. TTR is not a psychological counseling service. The extra details often are important for understanding a topic or picking the right advice. Employers are employers only.
The drug rules in trucking don't only apply if everything in society is adjusted so that everyone agrees with the changes and the rules. There is a rule, and every driver will be tested, and every driver knows random tests are possible or likely. It doesn't matter if alcohol is less or more dangerous than THC. It doesn't matter if drinking a beer or three after work is more or less dangerous or more/less socially acceptable than use of THC. The rule is the rule and it applies to every driver. Crying about "the injustice of it all" is just a feature of every drug user I have known. It's not relevant to the realities or the rule.
For the OP is makes ZERO difference if your state allows THC use or not or under what conditions and what purposes it can be used. The federal rules is NO THC FOR TRUCK DRIVERS. No state's THC law has ANY influence on federal THC laws for truck drivers. -
Have you forgotten what the OP was? They said they know they can't drive if they are smoking but they use it to self-medicate for severe OCD. I've tried to give general advice for that kind of situation, but it seems like everybody's arguing about the legality of weed rather than the issues in the original post.

Truck drivers are randomly tested for blood alcohol level and after accidents. The rules don't ONLY apply once YOU are satisfied ALL RULES ARE NOW FAIR. As a truck driver I have been tested at a sobriety checkpoint and at work. God decided alcohol only stays easily detectable in the blood for a short time and THC stays detectable for a longer time. Take it up with Him. Or invent a THC test like the handheld BAC tester and make Thirty gazillion dollars.
