Alcohol abuse touches many lives, far beyond just the drinkers. While stopping weed will cause "jonesing", it won't kill you. Besides, relief is just a puff away.:)
We've all seen alcohols devastating effects, and is highly under rated. It's like gasoline, if it was trying to be legalized today, it would never make it. I happen to come from a state, that historically, has the greatest amount of drunk driving arrests in the country, Wisconsin. Some with 7, 8 or even 9 arrests. It was something as a truck driver I just expected. 1 in every 10 cars you pass had a drunk driver. The thing was, those drunks usually weren't going far, and by 2:30 am, all was quiet, maybe a single runoff, but not many crashes. I guess you'd call them "professional drinkers". In Colorado, it's not booze, so much, but "impaired driving" with weed, and they don't mess around. I think 1 "impaired" and you lose your license. I guess my point of all this, with all the enforcement, testing, distractions and sub par drivers, are the roads really any safer?

Coming from a former alcoholic and drug addict, STOP IT NOW. You want to be a trucker/driver? Then put in the work to do so. Go get help, there's plenty of medically assisted options out there that can and do help. You also need to do the work. Yea, it's going to sick. But if you really.want this, then you do it. I've had drivers tell me that they still do it and haven't been caught. To me that's not worth that chance of getting caught.

I did the same twice. Navy Boot camp when I was 17, and they had no test for pot then. But had fun later. The fire dept when I was 24. Until 30 yrs later, I tried it again and it has changed. I got super anxious and paranoid. Pot used to be an insulating cocoon. Now it makes everything starkly too real. Thinking about how I'm older and death is getting nearer . So I have no use for that in my life, and I don't have time to drink.
