Just wanted to follow up real quick. Just talked to a lady trucker friend who mentioned she is BRINGING HOME $2200 every two weeks. She got her CDL about 6 months ago.

I think the problem people run into is: they only have one way of thinking. They got their CDL by signing up with Prime or Pam, were paid like crap, and treated like crap, and they believe that is the only way. (or perhaps they want you to suffer as they did) But believe me, that is not the only way. New drivers with positive attitudes can make great money. If you are the type of person who makes excuses, points fingers and never gets the job done....then you might not make as much money as someone who is positive, take responsibily and meets deadlines. Doesn't turn down loads that everyone else did. Goes the extra mile.

There was a women that was on the expedite forums a few years back and didn't get many miles running solo but never complained . Then she announced she was leaving expediting -because she was pregnant . :biggrin_25510: . But it gets better . Before she went expediting she said she got a Class B CDL when she was working for the carnival . :biggrin_25524: . She wanted to know if a felony would keep her from getting hired . The crime ?Criminal Transmission of HIV . :biggrin_25521:

I would guess that alot of the people that dont stay with it over a year leave because of missing family, family missing them or not enough belief in themselves to realize they CAN handle a big truck.

Yep I've read countless threads about a newbie having to leave the road because of what they call(family issues) which is code word for.....

Anyone out there have opinions on Roadmaster? Again, it is for my husband who drove Class B in a former life, so he has experience. He can drive an 18 wheeler, but companies can't just take a persons word at face value & I understand that. It would not only be stupid to just take a persons word, it would be dangerous. Plus, the insurance companies won't cover someone who does not have the proper training.
It sure would not take long for him to get through a training program though.
