I had a preventable accident and fired.

So it’s a forward facing camera. But the reflection off the windshield showed my phone going off and me grabbing it for a second. 10 seconds later the other driver hits me

 

Negative. I was still in my lane. I checked my gps for a second. Put it back. Then proceed to start my sequence to merge. Checking mirrors, turn signal on, checking mirrors again. Then started merging. I was half into megering when I saw him go into the shoulder to pass me. Half of his car was on the shoulder and other half was dirt. His car got out of control and swerved passed me crashing into the guard rail on the right side. But all the company cares about was me using my phone.

 

from right or left. In the footage. You see me merging left then the car coming around from the back into the shoulder. He was going way faster than me. So I think he just lost control
