The only accidents Ive been in with peoples cars and property usually was because I failed to do something right. In my case staying within lane. Result was ticket for 45 dollars once in Maryland and fighting off a lawsuit once the plaintiff realized how lightly I got off. The Judge ruled that the insurance of the trucking company buy her a new car and then some and it got settled that way without going into trial.
The rest of my accidents were property damage either by someone being where they did not belong or by a reluctant attempt to fix a problem gone bad on my end. Resulting in a clumsy breaking of something. Those were not traffic accidents per-se.
When I account for all the near misses by this much, sometimes using a huge amount of pavement ... I consider myself very fortunate. My last near miss was the closest yet when one person ran across my front end of our car coming on at 70+ in rush. Number two landed on his butt next to my door while the herd around me did their best not to hit anything. That would have been at minimum a big case vehicle versus someone illegally running across freeway if I hit him. His friend did die a thousand deaths after he hears about 20 of us stand on our brakes wondering if his friend just died. That should be punishment enough to cross over the nearby bridge next time.
I have 6 point points on my license

Most companies state you can't have more than 3 moving violations in so many years. If you only have one speeding ticket it doesn't automatically disqualify you. Many schools will still accept you.

Apply and see, speeding isn't the end of the world, It will just probably take some effort, also see if you can petition the court, state the cause as employment op's, just never know if the judge is in a good mood.

I'm in a similar situation. From PA, 5 points on my driving record (down to 2 in July). Two similar moving violations in the past three years and two minor accidents with no tickets. I know it's not good, I made some dumb mistakes when I was younger and I don't plan on making them again. On the other hand, the past two years I've been driving a 26' box truck for a company with a perfect driving record. Never been arrested, good work history, graduated with associates degree, and I don't do drugs. Scheineder told me in an email that I should be fine but I'm hesitant to risk quitting my decent local 38k a year job without a guarantee to get hired after CDL school. Could use some advice after two years driving box I feel like I'm ready to take the next step but I want to stay regional or local. Will anyone hire me or should I just wait two years for my record to clear up?

How do you only have 5? Accidents alone are 3 each, at least here in Tn.

seek an expert attorney in driving infractions, explain to him your wanting to be a truck driver.
best of luck to you, and please....SLOW DOWN, as your future (even if you do get a CDl) counts on it.....!!Marioso Thanks this. -
