And who signed off on This? The police? The accidents are still on your record-just not the points?

 

I went to traffic court and it was determined that I was not at fault so no points were given. They are still on my record though. December 2019 it will be 3 years and my record will be clean. I might look into getting it expunged depending on the price but at 38k a year I can afford to wait.

 

On a commercial license they dont go away in 3 years

 

wait one yr or 2 and those will fall off and then apply might have a better chance getting into a decent company and not a mega

I'm not sure if you think I have a CDL or your projecting into my future but I think i've proven in the past two years that I can safely drive a commercial vehicle. There's something to be said for having a perfect driving record with a box truck with no prior training CDL training of any kind. Would you rather hire someone who has proven they can drive a fairly large 26' truck 45 hours a week for 2 years thru mountains, several states, and bad weather. Or the guy with a perfect driving record in his tiny car with no trucking experience of any kind whatsoever?

Yes I used to speed a lot and it led to problems but I don't anymore and I'm sure everyone out there had a vice of some kind when they were 25.

You can get a cdl, but finding a job may be difficult.
Call Century Trucking in Detroit and ask if they will hire you after graduating from a cdl school.

 

I wasn’t aware that I could still register for a CDL school.
Would I have to pay or could I get a grant?

 

Either way. If the state pays for it, they'll want pre-hire letters from a couple of companies before they pay for school with tax dollars.
