    Great information! Thank You All.
To clear up a few things... first, the bear in Mo. ran my license and immediately noticed something on his computer screen. I was looking at his face and I could tell he saw something there. That is when he asked me if I ever lived in Florida. One thing I forgot to mention is that about a week before this incident I was pulled around back at a Tennessee weigh station and they did a level three inspection on me and gave me a "have a great day,
see you later". Nothing at all about my warrant. He also had my license and I guess he ran it. So I don't know.

I've known folks who have come to the police dept and apply for a job. Then get arrested for an outstanding warrant during the interview.

The TN Officer more then likely did not run your license. Once you are entered into NCIC you are entered until taken out. It is Officers discretion to run your information. I know I do not always run people's licenses, should I ? Maybe but sometimes dispatch is busy, sometimes I profile and sometimes I do not feel like it lol Yes we have had people apply at our Dept with warrants, lol

I too had a warrant come up in the last year or so that I knew nothing about. It was something that I had been charged with 20 years before and told at the time that it was being dismissed because it was BS. Then a year or so ago I was doing something else at the county courthouse and found that I had a twenty year old warrant out for me. After talking to the solicitor the warrant was vacated. It seems someone simply hadn't done the paperwork a long time ago that they should have. This after I've already gone through TSA, FBI, and God knows who else for hazmat twice and for concealed weapons permits in two states. Go figure. If the solicitor in the jurisdiction that holds this warrant decides it isn't worth pursuing for any reason such as no evidence or witnesses being unavailable they very may well decide to vacate the warrant. But YOU have to initiate the process with a phone call. Get it started, it won't just magically disappear.

I would get in touch with the highest boss at your home Terminal and explain everything. You have a better chance of them kinda ignoring this if you come clean than if they get a call from the impound lot that they need to come get their rig and load cause a driver just got locked up.Looks real bad if you hide this and they find out later.Makes them wonder what else you could be hiding. Also, head to Florida and get this fixed.Cause a felony means you lose a LOT of rights.Gun ownership,Voting rights, etc.

I don't know all of the particulars relating to his situation, but one of our drivers ran into one heck of a mess when he had to renew his HAZMAT under the newer system with the background check. Something from years earlier on the west coast turned up. He had to go out there and get the situation cleared up costing him his vacation for the calender year and about $9,000 between travel, lawyer fees, and court costs.

Again, I'm no lawyer but he was very open about the situation and it all started with the HAZMAT background check. Having been through it, I'm sure he would advise anyone to get this straightened out. Fortunately for him, he had been with the company for a while and they worked with him while he got it resolved.

This is a situation that a lot of people get themselves into and it really sucks for everyone involved because of the costs involved. I have had several friends who had warrants for missing court dates, etc. There is nothing worse then getting pulled over by the police and finding out that you have a warrant and are going to jail.

That's why it is OUR responsibility to stay on top of it.

In florida I check my DL every week, for free. Kinda like keeping up with your credit and your DAC.....
