Yeah, I couldn't sleep at night if I did that. But it does seem that sometimes people that do that get the jobs while honest guys like me get the shaft. But that is just Life.
No they usually don't. 10 Years ago you might have gotten away with that because the demand for drivers was so high but today they will dig and dig to make sure you have not left something out. They will find out that you lied and you'll be done before you ever get started. Hang in there driver something will pan out for you. Just keep after it and don't give up.
I agree 100%,I don't give much advice on here because i'm not all that experienced myself, but i will give my .02 here,DON'T LIE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE,EVER!
Yeah they will. And if you get caught you're pretty much screwed. Personally, I do not advise it or recommend it, but it is a viable option for those willing to take the risk. You choose your risk and deal with the consequences when they come, to each his own. I myself like to keep things clearly in the legal side. I have no reason to overburden myself with added unnecessary stress. I'm hoping that the OP will look at the option of going with an independent smaller outfit that might give him a break. Or working for a shipper or freight forwarder in the warehouses until he can muster enough money to get out on his own. The costs to just start driving your own truck extend into the $5000+ mark in federal/state/insurance fees alone, not counting the down payments for truck and trailer and due initial maintenance (so add an extra $10k-$20k for that) on the equipment. This is why many people will steer towards leasing onto a company, but for the OP that might not be a viable option as he stated.
With only $2 you dont have a next move this is high stakes $2 wont even get you a spot to watch less known get you in the game
BJnobear... Starting out myself here and let me tell you...it's not something you just decide to do one day and jump in the next. I've been at the "Planning Stage" for 3 years now. Eventhough I've already filled out the paperwork with a O/O only company, have about 5k in cash and another 25k in mature bonds, 12 acres of paid for blank property as collateral...I still nearly convince myself not to go through with it everyday. There are so many "what if's" in trucking. I know if you "what if" everything in life, then you'll never walk out the door for fear of the unknown. But sometimes the questions still need to be debated. You can be the best driver in the world, but there is so much out of your control. A crappy fork lift operator "forks" your trailer tire($300)...you park your truck on the jobsite for the night and the next morning your batteries are gone($750)...park your truck on the jobsite for the night and you wake the next morning to 4ft. of water around you and the nearest dry land is 1400ft away(luckily nothing was damaged)... In this business, common sense dictates everything and for the rest be prepared to pay for the knowledge...
Well a new thing has popped up. This thread has been superseded. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...e-does-this-poop-come-from-3.html#post1608315
