I dont think there is a carrier out here that dont play a favorites list, Of course the fav is going to deny this, but the guy in the barrel is a little more sensitive about things entering the knothole. There is a certain amount of BS thats torerated by all, just inherite to the job.

The megacarriers suck period. I worked with swift for six months, only because they were the only one who would hire me with a two year gap in my otr experience. I ran midwest regional so I cant complain about short runs. But what I can complain about is getting a short run, then getting 2 to 3 days to deliver a 500 mile run with no ability to change the appointment time(this really peaved me off). But the planners at swift are a bunch of ______s fill in the blank there, they play games with drivers. If you turn down a load even if theres no way you can deliver or pick up ontime, they will start sending you crappy loads or let you sit for that day. They did this to me multiple times. Then after six months with them, I get a call saying to come to yard in minnesota cause we need to talk. They said they are gonna pull me outta my truck for a week because my truck wasnt getting enough miles, bunch of bs, they pulled a bunch of drivers outta there trucks for bs reasons. I know of atleast 10 others outta the minnesota terminal they did it to. They said they are downsizing there fleet, but yet they are still hiring. Hmmm yeah megacarriers suck, stay away from them if at all possible, I couldnt unfortunately. But now I am at a great company that treats me like a person not a number and keep me rolling. My last 5 trips have been over 1000 mile runs. One im gonna deliver tomorrrow morn was 1400.

I've never been a fan of the larger trucking companies.I will agree that it's what you make of it, but sometimes dispatchers and so forth can play a vital role in if a driver stays or goes.My current travel agent is on point and will do everything in her power to fix any problems that I may incur. It's all about how much you're willing to take.

The rest of em, can rot. -
I worked for a small company where the head dispatcher had a favorite driver, gave all the good loads to, cause this driver ran ilegal both ways from shipper to receiver, never took his full 10 and i know ran over his 11, he had a load scheduled a day before his drop,, this guy ran 19000 miles a month and more, so the big companies have nothing on small ones, just depends on how the company rules work and who can get by the wrong way.
Roadmedic Thanks this. -
I hope I get to drive...fairly legal...mostly legal...and safely. Aside of normal inconsistencies, I should have nothing to complain about. But you all know that there is a plethora of drivers out there who a.) would gripe if you hung 'em with a new rope and b.) blame EVERYTHING on the carrier who fired 'em, so they don't look bad admitting all the crap they did. Or simply the cruddy attitude that got 'em shoved aside in the first place.
