Doing what seems impossible is precisely what makes it so enjoyable.
    Your point is?
Not all of us enjoy mediocrity.
Some of us enjoy doing what you are incapable of doing without having to resort to 10 times the power.
HF Contesting can be fun. You should try it sometime. You might even learn something that you didn't read in a book.

I do the REAL thing on HAM Radio. Not something in a book, but you would not know anything about that. I used to be on CB Radio, moron so yes I DO know what it is like. Unlike you, I actually make the kinds of things you can only read about in books, and purchase from other people. Why are you even still commenting on my posts? Are you seriously that butt hurt over someone who does more than you can think of?

I was going to write up a pretty good reply to TVD but I won't bore people about me or my defense of the CB radio.

Instead, as someone who has been doing the radio thing since around 1965, and someone who is well-educated in the art of radio, I challenge TVD to get a general ticket (which is really easy to do, my kid got hers on her 10th birthday - studied for two days, took the test three days later, passed np) and get on the HF bands with his general ticket then come here and tell us what has changed for him and what is the challenge to using it.

Along with the challenge, I also say to TVD to get a (tr)uSDR or build one with the help of DL2MAN (add .com to his call and it will lead you to him) and see how well you get along on HF with just a few watts and a random wire.

Outside of that, the CB is the same as 10m when it comes to almost everything except operators. Some hams make a difference while others, not so much. As on Cb, there are some real lids and abusers on 10 as there are on 40 and 80 ... oh, and on 2.

The feds don't do much about them, and when it comes to the CB band and Mark, well they won't do much about him or the Super Bowl.

As for Rabbi, he is an asset here as are others. He has practical knowledge of some subjects and shares them when he can. He has inspired others to learn which is a good thing. He also is Mark's mouthpiece here, not a big deal but it gets funny sometimes and should be taken with a grain of salt.

A lot of talking with nothing being said there. Two super easy "challenges" which one is just upgrading my ticket, the second is building something that has clear instructions and explanations on how to do it and is provided in a kit. And the fact that you misunderstand that I was defending those who actually use the CB Radio channel 19 as part of their daily lives to get information, yet could not do that with a narcissistic con man constantly ruining what Channel 19 is for to start with. Perhaps you should do your research on CB Radio and Channel 19 and it's history.

if it was so easy, why haven't you upgraded to a general or better yet your extra ticket?

    I bet you can't.

forget the rest, you are not worth the effort.

You know, saying stupid things like that is like saying "I bet you can't shoot fish in a barrel."

It seems like it's the other way around after I shared the 74 mi video and you suggested three to five miles is all that anyone should ever expect as an excuse for your failure to replicate what was done out of that Freightliner Cascadia.
That's very true. That's precisely why I share real world experiences instead of flapping my gums about hypothetical chapters read in a book.

Well not stupid, when you move beyond the basics, you can start preaching. I don't see much in the way of success.

He is a ham radio operator, which precludes all of that.

Very true, a lot of what you posted helps a lot of people.
