Hey whatever works. For me after two or three times and stubborn tandems I start to lose my patience

The westbound side? Eastbound isn't even used anymore.

I like the PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench myself. That and liberal use of a rolling trailer spike and those pesky pins don't stand a chance.

    Record you say? pffft.

    Here's my record scale ticket:

    Started with:
    IMG_1988.PNG
    Ended with: IMG_1989.PNG

    Dog food.

Edit: it looks like I just moved the fifth wheel and moved along.. what's missing is the other 4-5 scale tickets where I tried everything including jumping jacks next to the truck to lose some weight before driving it. Finally ended up with a ticket that said 80k and decided that it's not worth it. Scale was about 100 miles away and I figured I'd burn fuel.

That's what I got for showing up to a Purina plant with full tanks.

All the scales I passed that day were closed..... -_-

Hey, 80k is as heavy as it gets when that's the legal limit. If I could legally haul 200k, I would be posting scale tickets with 199980 on them and have the same remarks.

I've never seen a truck scale weigh in less than 20 lb increments. It's also to the nearest 20 lbs on any axle or grouping.

Would burning that fuel of got steers and drives legal since you needed to lose 200 lbs.

That was basically the plan. I didn't get to test it, thankfully.

Next time I went back to that shipper, I thought I was being so smart when I showed up with 1/4 tank though. And then scaled at 89k. Then they reworked and I had 37k on drives with tandems all the way up.

I think it's just the dog food. I don't like it at all.

When I was with Swift we sometimes had loads with instructions to show up with half tanks or less. Otherwise it was a service failure. I remember picking up a load of baking soda IIRC near Little America, WY with 3/8 tanks.

After adjusting the weights with close to 34K on the trailer tandems I calculated that I could get a maximum 1/2 tank to cross any scale. I scored a LOT of shower credits on that run.

Now I run a split axle flatbed. I've CAT scaled this exactly three times in the last 16 months. Once to get my tare weight to let brokers know how much I can load.

Heaviest I've been with this trailer was 84K, a load of "bottom tools" going to get scrapped. Weighed on the scales into the scrap yard and on the way out. Inbound they used a Geiger counter on the load to make sure it wasn't hot. Unloading was unique, they had me unstrap the load, pull the pipe stakes on the opposite side, then a bulldozer pushed the entire load off. Talk about deafening noise, each 40' long drill collar of solid nickel weighed at least 4,000 lbs.
