I just drove through my 48th state.

Two farmers were standing on the edge of a field talking. A car came down the rural road, stopped, and a man got out.

"Excuse me gentleman", said the man. "I wonder if you might be so kind as to tell me something. That next town up ahead, is it full of kind, wonderful people like that town I just came through?"

"It sure is" said the farmer.

"Oh that's just great to hear", said the man. He thanked him and drove on.

A few minutes later another car came racing down the road. It screeched to a halt, and another man jumped out.

"Hey", he yelled at the farmers. "That next feckin town up ahead, is it full of rude asswholes like that town I just left?"

"Why yes sir I'm afraid it is", said the same farmer.

"####e, I knew it!" said the man. He slammed his door and drove off.

The farmer's friend said, "Hey Stosh, you told those two fellers two entirely different things."

"Well I did indeed", said Stosh. "You see that first gentleman, he was friendly and polite and hopin' to meet good people and make friends during his travels. You know he's going to do just that and have a great time there.

But that second man, why he was full of hate and anger and just seemed to be lookin' for trouble everywhere he goes. You can be sure that's what he'll find in the next town."

 

So you drove thru the country twice is what you're saying,......JK....LOL

OK I did all 48 a long time ago. But of course the first time was a milestone for me as well.

 

Running coast to coast will do it. I call it the big merry-go-round.....all 48 BTDT.

 

Congrats, as I said it was a milestone for me as well.

But do you know what fry sauce is and where it is served? What are the lines of demarcation for referring to soda as "pop"? What state refers to new arrivals as being "From away"? Where will you find pretty teen girls in short skirts and cowboy boots?

 

I've driven in 48 of the 50, and the 2 I'm missing are Hawaii and Michigan. Did 47 of the 48 continental with May Trucking and a company out of Maine, and then worked for a private construction outfit in Alaska doing some heavy haul. Would like to get Hawaii as a tourist, and could care less about Michigan for the most part but would like to see the UP.

 

42 of 48 states in 3 years time. Yet to go into the Pacific Northwest.

 

Montana was the hardest state to check off that list but it eventually happened.
