I was browsing another trucking forum site, and I came across a serious question from a potential new truck driver.,he wanted to know the "BEST & SAFEST way to drive the rig and watch T.V. at the SAME time. To quote Buford T. Justice,"I don't know what this world is comin to." (for those of you REALLY young, rent the dvd Smokey & the Bandit)
Um,But dont drive & watch it....................

sure hope you arnt serious about that kid
everybody knows you just set it on your bunk so it is facing forward and reflects off of the window--so you can watch the reflection--and the bears and dot can watch as well just so they know what show he was watching when they haul his as s of to jail for running over a poor amish family at nightrocknroll nik Thanks this. -
i had actually witnessed something like this a few years ago..
i was traveling south on I-95 in CT around the Stamford area, (right around the exit for the WWF) i was in the right lane (i had pups) and a Ryder tractor/trailer was in the middle lane passing me.
the driver had a DVD player on the dash board, and he was watching a "sex movie" all the while doing at least 70 mph (i was doing 60)....
i simply could not believe that he was doing that...
but i think this must be the "new breed" of truckers that NEED to text while driving, on the cell phone, watching movies all while driving....
and we wonder why every self righteous safety group is up our arse's.....and the government is forever controlling us.....EZ Money, Bumpy and trucker_101 Thank this. -
What do you consider "REALLY" young? I dont have to rent it I own it, all three actually. Great movies, although the third one wasnt that good, rip snowman.
-
I remember when the first movie came out. I must really be old...

Give it about 20 years lobes...then all your bones hurt, you get home and you would rather sleep than "get some" from the wife or girlfriend......lol!trucker_101 and canuck in da truck Thank this. -
Did ya get his ## and call it in? -
You should've kept that a secret , and let it sneak up on him
-
LOL!!!! Yea,it will sneak up on him eventually...

no, he (or someone else) had done what many truckers typically do, the toll free number was blacked out. but even then, it would have been the typical Ryder toll free number, and they would not necessarily do anything about it but notify the renter of the truck, as that would have been out of their hands to enforce.
it would have had to been a Ryder employee, for them to do something about it. -
Its already started. I have always worked physical jobs. Did landscaping when I was younger, worked for an electrician for a couple years, then worked for a lumber company for 4 years. Having to carry sheetrock, shingles, flooring, windows, doors, and many other things that weigh well over 80lbs takes its toll pretty quick. I already have the shoulder, knee, back pain.
