Sure, after you spend most of your career flying for pennies you can finally hop into a 747 with a large airliner making the big bucks working 14 days out of the month, but by that time you are forced to retire in the near future!

I'm not sure which industry is more screwed up. Trucking or aviation. They both sure are fun though!

Majority of the commercial pilots are from the military. Most civilians couldn't afford the schooling required to get certified. And also commercial pilots tend to get bounced around from airline to airline so it's difficult to get the seniority to fly the big planes. But there are a few lucky younger pilots that fly the big planes as my next door neighbor is one of them.

I was looking forward to the experience, but found out that I should refer myself to a company that is interested in giving credit for shedding blood for the freedoms they hold so dear.
