139/89 is ok. 140/89 could be an issue.

Ahhh ok. I was wondering because it rarely gets that high when it does spike. That the highest I have seen it in the past two or three years. I have seen my blood pressure go up to 165/135 but that was about five years ago and I was mad enough at the time that I was more than ready to start throwing random sticks of dynamite.

Yeah, you are talking about muscle relaxers (a beta blocker). Politicians use them before debates, people use them before job interviews and such. They work great and are cheap.

Can these be seen in a drug test?

I don't know. They are beta blockers, they aren't a drug on the list like cocaine or marijana. If you have a prescription for it then you should be alright. Beta blockers aren't meant to be taken daily, only taken before high stress situations and they don't impair you.

I've heard of other over the counter medicines possibly causing false positives, like Unisom, an over the counter sleep aid shows up as an opiate. But a beta blocker? It shouldn't because its not a benzo. Check with your doctor though. My GUESS is it would only show on a 12-panel test. The DOT test is 5-panel

Would it show on a hair follicle test? Regardless, I have my own way to bring my BP down. Listen to music that makes me feel good.

Its mainly for job interviews and public speaking. You would still feel nervous, but you shouldn't be showing many nervous characteristics. The beta released in the brain that causes your body to show anxiety is blocked. That's all it does. I think the commenter was suggesting that to me as a way to deal with "White Coat Syndrome" so that the nurses can get an accurate BP reading that I have most of the time, and not a nervous reading because I have 5 people looking at my with #### hooked up everywhere and some old doctor grabbing my junk.

Ahhh. I apologise. I may be getting on with Swift and I was just trying to find out what is involved with the DOT physical. If I do get hired it would be my first truck driving job period and that alone would make me nervous. As for the White Coat Syndrome, that don't matter, as long as they don't put me on any medication. I hate that stuff. Pardon my interruption. Just ignore me.

They test your eye sight and your ability to see color. They check your BP which I'm told is most people's largest problem with the physical. They might ask you to resist some movements and just test your ability to expand and contract your muscles. They will test your hearing with the whisper test. You need to hear what they whisper in at least 1 ear. Both ears are not required. They will grab your balls and ask you to cough. If you put anything on that paper that might tip them off to mental for physical issues they might look at you more deeply. Otherwise it's quick and easy.

Ahhh ok. None of that bothers me. My BP spikes every now and then but it usually does it only when I get upset or irritated over something. It don't stay up for long either.
