But the government only cares about Saftey, it has nothing to do with control. The government needs to take 2 years off from making rules in trucking, so we can all catch up with money and the 2000 other BS rules shoved down our throats.

Just because some drivers falsified logs doesnt mean I am. Then again, your "one of those people" that agrees witn CARB regulations, that says all us lying bad guy super truckers need to know...........volvodriver01, Joetro and SHO-TYME Thank this. -
I've been on elogs and paper logs. Just my experience but for safety paper logs can allow you to make adjustments if necessary while elogs don't give you any room for adjustments so you will have to make riskier decisions. For me, I will ride paper logs until elogs are required
Joetro, heavyhaulerss, SheepDog and 2 others Thank this. -
Sir what do you mean "MAKE ADJUSTMENTS"?? LOL I love these cats.
To lost trucker your name says it all. No I heard of him long ago, abut from the comments on this tread welll uhhhh. "here's your sign" getter done
P.S I know getter done is Larry the cable guy before you try to enlighten me. -
Make adjustments as in getting home after 2 weeks when your 20 minutes away from the house and your out of hours according to your E log. Guess you would never think about committing such a heinuos crime.
Scania man, TwinStickPeterbilt and SheepDog Thank this. -
With Paper Logs you can make small adjustments like that, same as stopping at rest area and logging 15 off duty when you don't really take that long and leaving the shipper after your 11 has expired, just minutes ago, without worrying about the company putting an infraction on your DAC. I mean seriously, a couple minutes can make a huge difference, we're not talking about saying your in your sleeper and actually your running across the country. Not talking about two or three log books. I have had people tell me that they get more time with electronic logs than paper.... I haven't figured that one out..

Here's a scenario with logs vs paper
I'm running 100% legal but after 5-6 hours I'm getting tired so I pull of and take a 2-3 hour nap. Well with elogs your 14 is all screwed up your company's pissed because you stopped. With paper you can take that whole break out and your driving SAFER than if you kept going and then take your ten. You would still sleep atleast 7-8 hours and most of us don't sleep that long. So why should run so hard with elogs when with paper I can take a nap and not loose anything. And at the end of the day I'm safer because I haven't tired myself out all day. I would be as well rested after that 7-8 as I would if I didn't "cheat"..SheepDog, Joetro, amiller and 1 other person Thank this. -
A true capitalist would give drivers a 16 hour window to work. Two lines, ON DUTY and OFF DUTY. What you do on your time is your business. You mess up, it's big brother's business.
Somewhere, a non driving steeringwheelholder is shuddering, "But if they went to a 16 hour day, my dispatcher would force me to drive! It's not safe!"
Youre not safe. If you can be bullied around by a desk jockey, you shouldn't be driving.TwinStickPeterbilt, Joetro, tsavory and 2 others Thank this. -
