Lol @ all the sonny comments.....I would consider leasing a truck if it was a good deal. My only issues with leasing are the facts that you get a 2013 or maybe 2014 but at the end of the lease the truck is at least 3 years older and that the interest and final payment make the truck cost a lot more than you could turn around and sell it for immediately after you get the title. I am about to start doing furniture delivery and have been looking up hhg and bedbuggin to see about that section of the industry and people with 28 foot vans or smaller box trucks can make 200,000 a year if they work their butts off....I can get a new box truck for 50k and do that.. I understand a tractor trailer combo would be able to make the most money each year moving furniture but it would be cheaper to work your way to a tractor trailer after a few years, pay someone to drive the van and start grinding in the tractor trailer..I would rather drive a late 80s early 90s peterbilt myself..but that's just me being sentimental.. I want my creature comforts that come with a new truck.

Don't know what its like now but Werner got new trks all the time and those would go to the new drivers. But none the less, does'nt companies trade their old trks in after so many yrs?Nevermind Pete just answered my question. It doesn't matter to me if I get a trk a few yrs old as long as the trk is clean inside and dot ready. Many of the mom and pop companies consider 20 yr old equipment they just bought like brand new. When it comes to leasing you guys can't pick the trk you want can you?
GeorgeDee Thanks this. -
Too many when leasing pick the truck they want ( to impress others with BIG HP , Chrome & Stainless ) rather than the truck they can afford.
I have customers who have a 3 year age limit on equipment I can use on their contracts , they want it new ( before you all start with how bad the NEW stuff is , I actually know that ) and in their minds worry free.
Lot of the big trucking outfits DO NOT OWN 1 piece of their equipment , but fleet lease on 4 year, 500,000 mile turn overGeorgeDee and The Challenger Thank this. -
I know Benny Whitehead out of AL trades his trucks when they reach 600K which is every 2-3yrs. Raven trades trucks out every three years like clock work. Maverick seems to have newer trucks. Gordon Trucing and Central Oregon trade out their trucks every three-four years.
