Freightliner use to only have six key patterns.
I use to, and still do, have a key in the ignition, one on my key ring and another hidden outside the truck.

Most of the Mack’s I drove you couldn’t lock the door unless you used the key.

All Maverick Transport trucks are keyed alike.
I know, bought a used 2020 Maverick truck from Doggett. Parked next to a new 2024 Maverick company truck, got to chatting, asked him to try, opened it and fit the ignition cylinder too. a few thoughts,
As a fleet owner, trucks are setup from the factory, but the factory has provided the means to have a small amount of tryout keys.
You can order a set if you want, it isn't a large set but it isn't cheap.
It isn't just freightliner, it is all of them.
GM was mentioned, the reason why GM used different profiles is because there was a limited amount of codes on five slots for a key.
Every truck I own has a spare key hidden on it, the driver does not know where it is but has to call one of the managers or myself to be told where it is. The driver will need a screwdriver and a flashlight to get it. -
I had another retard ask me if he could use my key to my truck to unlock his truck at a receiver last night.
