It's not an issue of anticipation it's having to take these extra steps in the first place. And no I don't have the lighting fast reflexes I once had to slap that cruise off in the split second that 4 wheeler is cutting across my lane.

I don't drive anymore, at least a big truck, but when I read about the on guard system are you saying that if someone pulls out in front of you the trucks automatically starts slowing down? I'm just curious, if someone wanted to stop that truck could that be possible or is there some kind of over ride to prevent that.
I would think there would be a way to over ride it because if not seems like it would be too easy to get highjacked.
    Anyway just wondering. Thanks.

Yes you can override it by keeping your foot on the pedal.

If you have the cruise set or let up on the pedal due to approaching traffic the system will slow you down if it feels you are approaching too fast.

What happenes to me from time to time for example is I may be in the middle lane and traffic is merging onto the freeway and you have that 2nd or 3rd car in line that jumps into the middle lane because ain't nobody got time to merge properly...and those brakes will come on and jolt you.

If you approach an object and it thinks your to fast it will disable the accelerator so you can not keep in the fuel it will also slam on the brakes.

I know because leaving Laredo they're doing construction as you turn right you now turn into what was the left lane (due to right lane being closed ) and my system killed my fuel flashed red and stopped me (It picked up the bushes and trees in front of me) luckily as I came to a stop it let me accelerate again.

A bit irritated at the moment. Took a load to a customer I'm sure most are familiar with in Burlington NJ. Dropped....got a release number for my empty and it's full of pallets. Several other empties here...told to get new release number.....and no more release numbers for the day.

    Ugh!!!!

On guard likes to try to send me through the windshield every so often while cruising down the open interstate and I pass under certain bridges that it decides are dangerous.
