Yes he has a printer/scanner in the truck. Could he send them to the log Dept that way? He was hoping that he could do something like that. He is still sitting at the terminal

If he prints them and signs them he can call me and get my e-mail address and I will let him e-mail them to me. I will print them up and have them scanned in. But tell him I can tell the difference from the Script signature (whatever its called) or a real signature .

DDL does have a provision for an electronic copy of a signature, specifically so the logs can be e-mailed (or sent via other electronic means).

In such a situation, the courts have held that the electronic signature is valid as a signature (provided it is the sig of the person sending the paperwork). It's akin to a faxed signature.

If you have to print out the log, though, DDL doesn't append the sig, leaving the space blank for your own ink.
