Maybe i can some advise, i have been thinking for sometime now that i might be interested in buying some trucks and putting them on the road and possibly building it into something worth while. I drove over the road for about 15 yrs about 20 yrs ago. I guess when it gets in your blood it never really leaves!!!
Maybe one of you can give me some incite because i am having a hard time making the numbers come out from what i see on line. I am trying to figure out what freight actually pays per mile? Also is better to start out using a broker or just try and go direct to the shippers, it seems most brokers charge about 20% of the RPM. I am thinking about buying reefer trailers because that seems to me to be the most versatile to me. what do you all think????

Thanks in advance for the advice
Also thanks for being out there getting our great country through this time of need!!!!!! Be safe Drivers

Just scroll through the posts in o/o section, lots of people usually want to do the same thing and create pretty much the same exact threads

Lol. You might be right, it probably wouldn't be the first time i have done something crazy. I have been looking at a couple of free load boards ( DAT & 123 load board ) But i just cant seem to get freight rates and it looks like the ones showing on the free board are mostly brokers so it seems most of the freight i see is about 2.25 and below. which i can see how to make it work with the FSC but i am wanting to pay the driver more than i made 20 years ago and hopefully do some good. I have learned over the years that you don't need the whole pie in one bite, I of course would like to get a pay check one day but i also would like to take a % of the profit and put it towards a charity of some sort for people who have fallen protecting and making this great country turn day to day.

Hell you must also be a mechanic, you don't see to many people that have a 1/2" impact matter less a cordless.

If you have cash their will be lots of trucks for sale cheap very soon.......

Of course finding steady good paying work will be extremely difficult......

Huh? Fsc and spot freight....try putting that on a rate con and see what happens. Depending on fsc for extra isn't a sound plan
