I work for a major trucking company and have recently discovered that they are skimming drivers' paychecks. I contacted management, and they are not interested in correcting the problem, but very interested in covering it up. I need to find a great lawyer familiar with the trucking industry or corporate fraud. Any recommendations?

Not enough info like state etc lawyers are normally licensed in one state although some are licensed in others it is not the norm for civil law.

If they are doing illegal ####, call the county prosecutor. After they get tried and convicted, your civil claims will go a lot easier...

If its just shady ####, call the state labor board and tell them whats going on.

1099 out of Chicago with eastern European accents? We have NEVER heard this story before...

    Quit.

    Now.

Avoid the rush to the door before they change the name of the company.

Research your NEXT company better than your last one.

    Have a nice day...

A transport company skimming drivers pay surely not!!!! Try and gather up as much proof as possible, after all when it comes to legal matters, its not what you know its what you can prove that will ultimately win you the case. If you have records of the miles you've done, the actual milage rate they are supposed to pay you at, it just seems strange how they don't want to do anything about it. As most human beings are decent honest folk aren't they? But there always seems to be one bad apple in the basket huh? Try speaking with the Dept of Labour they may be able to steer you on the right course of action.
