I agree , using a clearing house ( tenstreet) to trace a drivers history , especially ones that you only applied too , and then to find out that not only was that info shared with a third party - tenstreet , that i had also applied at two other . Keeping employment history is one thing , sharing it with every tom , dick , and harry that asks for that info is wrong .

    Yup!
The companies are using Tenstreet because it is easy for them to maintain compliance and gives them an acceptable digital partner as the DOT has mostly switched to off-site auditing.

The part I believe is evil is the digital footprint developed by their digital application system to capture everything.

DAC/HireRite relied on paper termination reports to update a driver's employment history and allows an opportunity to question/refute potentially incorrect info.

But let's stop kidding ourselves; this is just a minor chapter in everyone's digital history; as is the clearing house when we look at what the federal, state and local governments, Microsoft, et all. plus Samsung and goggle if you run android.

We truly may be already digitally locked in our own demographic cubicle AND artificial intelligence is now being unleashed.

    George Orwell got the date wrong; 2024 not 1984 ! ! !

I know a certain major LTL I work for did all application process on house with their own, extremely and boy do I mean extremely thorough background check. Ten Street wasn't involved, they did have the background company pull DAC.

It's quite baffling how well some of these services work. I forget what company it was that did the background but they found out about me getting fired when I was 18 for cussing out a coworker at a retail store well over a decade ago. They also found every single one of my carry permits from multiple states. When I got hired on, management would always check my bags for a gun for the first few months and randomly after that. If I had something in my pockets they didn't like I'd have to empty them because of that report.

Somehow, and I have absolutely no idea how, they found my civilian contractor license for when I did construction work on a military base.

Big brother is here, he's been here for a decade at least. It won't be long and we'll have a social credit score for employers. There's already a company that aggregates applicants and ranks them for crappy high turn over retail jobs. This was a service a decade ago as well.

Pretty soon being a felon won't be the litmus test to getting barred from good jobs. It'll be bucking the boss when you're a kid or not playing well with the strangle hold of corporate micromanaging.

    Lav-25 Thanks this.
