I am from Johnson City Tn (near va, nc borders). There are no trainign schools within a reasonable commute in my area. closest is 90 minutes away each direction. RE WEST said there are no additional requirement and the recruiter even told me he knew a doctor that would pass anything if I was really worried about it. I am seriously looking at henderson now, I had never heard of them before chinatown mentioned it. Money is a major factor but to me it is more important to be trained right so that I know what im doing. .50 per mile does me no good if I have my license pulled for accidents etc. due to not knowing what I am doing.
I need advise choosing between two companies please.

Recruiters lie for one. And for two recruiters lie.

Shows right there what kind of company it is.
Have narcolepsy and get random seizures... no problem you're hired, here's the keys to an 80000 pound truck!wise2727 Thanks this. -
$0.50 per mile does you no good if you only drive 800 miles per week and good luck getting anybody to guarantee you a specific number of miles
-
Just to clarify I am not expecting .50, I was just saying an obscene amount and pointing out that even that much money isnt worth driving unsafe.
-
$0.50 a mile isn't worth working for unless I get a guaranteed 600 miles a week. What my buddy makes over at Power Fuels is equivalent to a dollar a mile at 3000 miles a week as a company driver. If you were to compare it to Hauling freight but he only drives maybe 300 miles a week and still grossing $3,000 per week as a company driver

Power Fuels was bought out by a bigger outfit last year. The name eludes me, but no matter. That ND rat race isn't anything I would recommend to anybody, and yes I was up there. Lots of money, live like an animal, 6 days on 1 off, nothing to do on your free time except shopping and laundry. Sky high rent if you can find a place at all.

It's cheap to live out there as long as you have a trailer and a cheap place to park it.
The trailer park I was staying in only charged me $350 a week back in 2012 and that included utilities. And that was back when guys were making 5 to $6,000 A week as company drivers. That trailer park only charges $450 a month now and that still includes utilities.
power fuels is now called Nuverra since 2012 -
The sleep study deal is the only thing that puts me off about Prime, though not enough to keep them off my list. At 350lbs I imagine you will have to take one and get stuck with a CPAP machine.
wise2727 Thanks this.
